Subject: 1099 form

Question
I am currently employed and use the W2, but I want to switch to another company to be a loan processor.  It is a small company and as an independement worker I would have to fill out a 1099 form.  I imagine my taxes would be higher at the new job.  How do I determine if it would be worth it?  If you don't know the answer to this, perhaps you can tell me what section of All Experts to use instead.

Answer
As a payrolled employee, your employer pays 1/2 of social security and medicare (7.65%) they pay all of workers comp and unemployment.

If you try to claim to be an Independent Contractor, then you will be required to pay 100% of all of these taxes.
