Question
I heard that green tea is very good for you for numerous reasons, including health and weight loss. I would like to know what the best most recommended brand of Green Tea is. I have purchased some from an organic section of a supermarket, but there were still many to chose from. I also wanted to know  about Lipton green tea, and if it shares the same benefits.

Answer
Hi Rani,

Great question!

The best way to drink tea is in loose form purchased from a trusted vendor. Tea you find in the grocery stores is often of the absolute lowest of quality. The larger the company, the lower the grade of tea dust they sell. The teas are probably close to a year old, and are not stored in the most ideal circumstances. Shelf life for tea is about 1 year.

Purchasing whole fresh loose tea from a reputable online merchant (like SBS Teas)or a local nutritional shop or tea room should get you the freshest teas available at that time.

Best of luck and cheers to good health!
