Question I am wondering if you know the safety of chai tea during pregnancy. At the very least, you may be able to tell me the ingrediants. Thank you for your time.
Answer Though some doctors frown on the caffeine in tea, I know from my own experience that tea helps to suppress my pre-eclempsia so that I was able to make it to term. This was just plain old everyday tea not herbal. The traditional spices in chai are cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black pepper and some times vanilla. Nothing that would even cause indigestion. Now every chai vendor has their own recipes and some chais that you buy as a concentrate or premade in a coffee shop may not contain more than a trace of tea so I would look at the ingredient list carefully.
