Subject: green tea health benefits

Question
Daily I drink a mixture of about one teaspoon of powdered green tea and orange juice.  I get the green tea (sencha) at a Japanese grocery store.  It is good quality tea.  I grind it very fine.  I wonder if I am getting the maximum benefit from ingesting the raw tea as opposed to brewing it.  Lycopene from tomatoes is purportedly much more abundant in
cooked tomato products as opposed to raw.  I believe the same goes for the healthy compound in broccoli.  It  is much more abundant if the broccoli is cooked some.  So how about green tea?  Is the greater benefit to be had from ingesting whole raw tea or from brewing it?

Answer
Matcha or Green tea powder is a great way to get all of the health benefits from the tea. We sell more Matcha than any other tea because it can be used in so many ways, smoothies, baking, ice cream, brewing or power shots like you are currently doing. Green tea is already either steamed or pan fried so there would be no reason to heat the leafs again to free up anti-oxidants.
