Subject: wu long tea question

Question
I am trying to figure out the strength of an average cup of wu long tea.  I see consumption ranges from 2 to 4 cups a day for fat/weight loss and I am wondering how many actual mg of wu long is being consumed with each cup.  Do you have an information or a link that could help me? thank you!

Answer
Hi Jennifer!

Thank you for your question. When brewing tea, you use 1 teaspoon of loose tea for each 6 oz cup of water.

The active constituents in green tea are powerful antioxidants called polyphenols (catechins) and flavonols.

One cup of Wu Long tea can provide up to 10-40 mg of polyphenols and can yield antioxidant effects that are better than eating a serving of broccoli or spinach.

Thank you again Jennifer, and please feel free to come by anytime with more tea questions! :)
