Tea - wulong tea

Expert: Varat Phong. - 4/27/2007

Question
Does wulong tea contain caffine?

Answer
Yes, mild caffeine. It is nowhere near what you would find in coffee. If you are still concerned, a simple trick that is often used to decaffeinate tea is to flush the tea leaves with hot water for 2 minutes before brewing. This can help remove up to 50% of the caffeine in the tea leaves.

Cheers

PS: The only type of tea that I know that has next to zero caffeine is the heavily fermented Black Puerh tea. If you are interested, you can find more info on this tea at http://www.puerhcha.com/Articles/Black_Puerh_Tea.htm
