Question
Hello Laura,
Would you happen to know of any online resources for 7-8th grade projects of any subject, extra curricular projetcs or any good sites that would have free information on this. I have a complete curriculum, but I need to add projects, or extra things to enhance my sons learning. Any information would be wonderful. Hopefully free or very low cost. Thanks    Michelle

Answer
Michelle,
One great site is SCORE which can be found at <http://www.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/score/cy68.html>
This site has novel study guides with many online activities.

A good collection of links can be found at About.com at <http://home.about.com/education/index.htm?PM=59_0204_T>

A great way to help students learn online is with a web quest.  The Web Quest Page By Bernie Dodge <http://webquest.sdsu.edu/> is a good place to start.

Suggested reading for Grades 6-8 can be found at <http://www.timesunion.com/news/reportcard2001/grade6-8.asp>

Marcopolo <http://marcopolo.worldcom.com/> is a project by Worldcom that provides standards-based content and lesson plans.  This site is aimed toward schools, but resources are accessible by the public.

Funbrain <www.funbrain.com> offers on-line learning games. They offer everything from math to Spanish.

Quia <www.quia.com> is free for students to use. There is a charge to add your own activities, but it is free to use other teachers' activities.  Notable on this page is Latin vocabulary quizzes.  They also have material for Astronomy, Biology, Latin, Chemistry, Mathematics, Chinese, Medicine, English, Music, French, Science, Geography, Spanish, German, Technology and more.

If you need more, just let me know!
Laura
