Question My son-in-law is a new tP.E. teacher with students ranging from pre-K to grade 6. He is looking for some activities for his youngest students. He starts in 2 days. Can you help?
Answer Hello,
For the younger students it is very important to build
class cohesiveness through copperative non-threatening
activities. One of the best is the use of a parachute in which all of the children need to work together to make the
activity sucessful. There are many diffrent activities that can be performed with the parachute from simply inflating it and making it rise high in the air to making
waves ( lifting parachute up and down ) and popping popcorn
( putting balls in middle of parachute and having students lift parachute up and down making the balls bounce into the air ) Check the internet for children's parachute activities.If you get stuck email me at Risintrout@aol.com
and I will share some ideas with you or your son in law.
Good luck to him. (Also check PE website PE Central)
