Question
dear sonia,

i'm a language teacher from jordan (french, english) and would be glad if you could help me with this one: recently i started to transform the lessons from the schoolbooks into more interesting subjects using powerpoint (with links to audio and video files), as well as excel for crosswords, and other. now the point is that my superiours don't recognize this work as "computerized lessons" they only consider things made with macromedia flash or so. i'm not a learned computer expert, it's more a hobby and i'm glad and proud with the stuff i'm "producing", especially the students benefit from it.
please can you give me a clear definition of a "computerized lesson"? i can't believe that "flash" should be the only way to do something on the computer.

thanking you very much in advance.

best regards

ibtisam khalil

Answer
Dear Ibtisam,
A "computerized lesson" is EVERY lesson where you use computer as the helpful tool to make your lesson more adequate, more interesting, more inovative and easier to understand. It is absolutely irrelevant do you use it just to make Power POint presentation of your lesson or make it flash.
The main reason for using computers in lesson planning and lesson realization is to make the lesson easier to understand and more interesting to the students. If you can make it with a word text with clip art or animation - it's OK!
So - go on, you're on the right way!

Kind regards
Sonja (from Croatia)
