Question
I want to teach my students how to use excel to learn multiplication with two- two digit factors. How can I do this?

Answer
Dear Joanne,
I don't know what age are your students. I teach Computer Science in High school (age 15 - 19), Croatia.

I would make the list of numbers from 1 to 100 (for example).
In the column A you can write 1 and two, select both numbers and with handle (litle black cross) on the right lower corner pull the selection and the program will cout the numbers as long as you pull it (to 20, 50 or 100).
In the column B (ie cell B1) I would put a formula:

=A1*2 (Enter)

If the number in A1 is 1, the result in the B1 will be 2.
Again, click the B1 cell, put the cursor to the handle (black little cross in the right lower corner) and pull the selection as long as needed. You should receive results for all the numbers in the column A ie.
=A2*2
=A3*2
=A4*2
etc.

I hope I have helped!
Kind regards from Croatia

Sonja B. Milic
