Question
Hi Dr. Joe,  I'm 24 years old and I have been very intrested in investing lately.  I have 1500 dollars to begin investing and would like to know what your recommendation is.  I want to be able to get the most out of my money, and I was planning to use it for this vacation I am going on with my family to Maui.  I have a plan in mind and would like to know what you think.  My plan is to buy some shares of google(goog) and autodesk(adsk) with about 1000 of my dollars and with the remaining 500, I wanted to buy some penny stocks like ASTM and STEM which are under 5 dollars and moving quick.  What do you think?  I would really like your expertise on this matter.  Thanks for your time, DAN.

Answer
I never ever recommend anyone trying any stocks. Only if they can afford 10 stocks, and over 100 round lot shares; then I might recommend investing. I am very clear on this. I do not recommend this investment strategy to you.

I however recommend you check out http://wfnn.info or http://www.morningstar.com for mutual funds. I am sorry but would be surprised if anyone professional would recommend short of a mutual fund for you.

Here is a list of the better funds:
