Question What is meant by the Dow "weighted percentage"?
Answer There are 30 companies, and they each have a factor or multiplier number. Each day the price per company stock is multiplied by each number for each company. Then, the companies price times the factor are added. This is how we get the average weighted number on the Dow. A good source for more details is in the back of Barron's newspaper that can be found at most public libraries for free.
