Question So, I'm 15, and I REALLY like this guy. Well, he's 19. He's a freshman in
college and I'm a sophomore in high school. I've looked up legal age of
consent in the state where we live, and it's 16. I'm turning 16 in three weeks.
There's one more problem, he's my assistant softball coach.
His brother is the head coach, and as I said, he's the assistant. The principle
and vice principal, along with some of our teachers and his brother, talked
with him, telling him he's not supposed to text/call/communicate on
Facebook with any of the girls on the team. Well, I know he does, because we
text ALL THE TIME, he's called me, and we talk on Facebook ALL THE TIME. I
REALLY like him too. He's, pretty much, perfect. We enjoy all the same things,
sports, we like the same professional teams, and college teams also. We just
click SO well. The one problem I've found with him to this point is that he
drinks.
He's told me that I'm the only girl on the team who's number he has, and even
though most of us are friends with him on Facebook, he really only talks to
two of us, me and another girl who's like his sister.
He teases me {In a fun playful way} and I do the same. At a game recently, the
other team's catcher, whom I'm GREAT friends with, walked up to me and
goes "It looked to me like ____ favors you over the other girls." She explained
to me that she didn't hear a peep out of him the first game, then when I went
in the second game to pitch, she heard him cheer for me and me only. And
everytime I was headed to the mound, he'd touch my back. I'll catch him
looking at me, or at least, my general direction, and he'll always quickly look
away. Then once on the way to the game, our eyes kept meeting in the bus
drivers mirror. He was looking at me, and vice versa.
But then there's times when he acts like I don't exist. I'm not really sure what
he's feeling/thinking. My friends, even the ones that don't know I like him,
are always saying they think he's flirting with me and vice versa.
SO, in question, do you think he likes me? Or could ever like me? Or should I
just forget about him {Or at least try to...}
One more thing, I'm VERY much a Christian, wants to wait for sex until
marriage, and he fully knows that.
Answer I cannot answer the liking question as it's the wrong area. I will say I recommend to speak to our internet safety experts, your parents and a trusted teacher about Facebook safety risks. I don't promote that site. About dating him, you just told me he cannot date you. He cannot date you for job reasons as well as maybe other reasons(legal reasons and moral reasons). Sorry. My advice is just move on. You cannot date him.
