Why are some people against interracial dating? Who cares what color we are! Why is color such an issue these days? I remember way back in January my high school had a Sadie Hawkins dance and I asked a guy who was a different race from me. I'm black and he's white. Well, some of my friends thought it was "weird" and "not wise" that I went with someone whose not black. That's so stupid. I don't care what color the guy is! I asked him to be my date because I thought he would be a nice person to hang out with.

I wish I could answer why people have such objections. Your friends act that way because it's how society does. Many see interracial dating as something that shoudln't be, when in fact, it doesn't even matter.
It's your life and you should want to date whomever you'd want; whether he be white, black, purple, etc. Remember, if they're your friends, they'll like whoever you date, no matter what, because he makes you happy.
The world is a complex place, and though things have gotten better, it's not perfect. Just remember that whateever makes you happy, you should do it.
