AboutJoanne Expertise I am a teenager myself, so I can relate to most questions a troubled teen may ask. I can answer questions like: "What does he/she mean when they said this?" or questions like: "What should I do about this?"
Experience I have seen and helped loved ones through many teen dating problems myself so I am quite experienced in this area (If I do say so myself ^^), I know how to break up with people gently, and how to go up to someone alone. I would be glad to help anyone I can.
I had developed an interest in a girl I work with at my summer job. Recently she had started to go out of her way to say hello and come over to talk with me. (we have an outside and inside area, I am usually outside) We seemed to get along well and always smiled and talked about different things. I eventually decided to ask her out and she said she would but just as friends as she has a boyfriend. She never mentioned him and I never thought to ask. Everything feels really awkward now and I am not sure what I should do.
Thanks!

Answer Hey John,
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm sure it does feel awkward...but, you have already asked her to something, and you have to follow through, even if it's already a friend. Then after that, that's all you should be and treat her as at work, a friend. That way, no more feelings can become mis interpeted. She has a boyfriend, which means she is off limits. No worries though! I'm sure you'll meet another girl soon!
