Question Hey my name is Krystina and I turned 18 recently. I am confused about my ex-boyfriend whom I broke up with about 7 weeks ago. We broke up because he said that he didn't really love me the way I loved him and also because he had been flirting with another girl that he really liked. I had a really tough time with the break up because we had been together for nine months and to find out he had been lying to me about so many things absolutetly killed me. I finally got over him when I found out some more negative things about him from my friends and he started acting like a total jerk to me. I thought he was over me because he got the girl he was flirting with to be his girlfriend about a wk after we broke up. However, I noticed about a week or so ago that he started acting strange, like talking to me a lot more, calling a lot more, and started to be nicer to me. I found out that the reason for him talking to me so much was because he was stressed out and got badly dumped by the girl he had started dating. It was basically the same thing that had happened between him and I only the girl was the one who didn't have any feelings for him in the relationship. Now he's been asking me about going to see movies together so we can "catch up on each others summer". My friends and my sister keep telling me that there is something wrong and are in a way threatening me with losing respect for me if I get back together with him. I don't plan to, but I want try and figure out what is going on with him. Is he trying to get me back?
Answer Krystina,
It seems like he does want you back. He got dumped, and has no one, so he turns to you in hopes that you'll come crawling back to him.
If anything, I'd just talk to him if he wants, hear what he has to say, etc. Make sure you're firm, and stay strong. There's nothing wrong with reconciling, then moving on.
