I can answer most types of question dealing with teens and preteens. I can give advice on dating, love, sex, friendships, same sex relationships. I am experienced at most preteen & teen subjects and have given advice to many people before. Who better to give advice to teens as being one myself?

I'm a teen girl and have been in many relationships, both with guys and girls. I've been in many different situations and can give you great advice.

Teen Dating Issues - I really like my guy friend.

Expert: Sandi - 11/2/2009

Question
Okay. So when I was sixteen, there was this guy named Micah. He was dating my friend, but I always had a little thing for him. When they broke up, we actually started up a friendship and became very close. Until he got a new girlfriend, then we quit talking.

Now, two years later, we happen to be in college together. He and his girlfriend from two years prior just broke up, she cheated on him. We have suddenly become close again. We text all day and hand out often after work and school. The whole time I listen to him talk about how much he misses her, its killing me.

I like him so much. He was feeling lonely a couple nights ago at like 2 in the morning so we went to the park and I sat on a cold bench (it was like 30 degrees!) for three hours and listened to him talk about her...

He tells me alot, things he's never told anyone else. He isn't scared to cry in front of me. With that being said, he's never shown any signs of wanting a relationship with me...:/ He just sees me as a sister, or at least that's what he said.

How should I handle this situation? And also...sometimes I feel so eager to help cause I just get to spend time with him. Plus, in his moment of weakness I may be able to make an impression. Is that wrong?

With that being said, as much as I really care for him, I can handle only being friends, I'm grateful to have him in my life at all.

BTW-I'm 18 years old, he's 19.

Answer
do you want to date him? if you really think you just want to be friends then i would not let him know how you feel about him. it sounds like he just thinks of you as a good friend. i guess what i dont understand is why you two dont talk when he is dating someone? is this his idea or yours?
