Question Hey Nicole,
I'm 14, and i'm currently in the very end of my 8th grade year. On friday night, I went to the end of the year semi-formal with this boy I've had my eye on for quite awhile. He's extremely shy and he doesn't talk much, but he managed to build up the courage to ask me, and I said yes.
So, we went to the dance and we had fun. We talked, we danced, we took pictures, and we even slow-danced to the one slow song they played. After the dance we exchanged numbers, so I decided to wait and text him on Saturday night so i didn't seem clingy. We talked for about an hour, but then he stopped texting me out of nowhere. I didn't text him again so that I wouldn't seem annoying. We had a Spanish regents exam today and his desk was diagonal to mine, and he would turn his head occasionally and just STARE at me. I texted him this afternoon saying "heyy". Still, no response. I'm starting to think maybe he's just not interested?
Answer Hey Lindsay thanks for the question. Well, I agree with you that something is up but I don't think it is that he isn't interested in you. Normally if we are trying to ignore someone or blow them up we completely ignore their presence. Therefore, if he didn't care about you I doubt he would be turning around to stare at you. I have a feeling that he is scared. Maybe he likes you more than he thought he would. Or maybe he doesn't want to be just friends with you but his parents won't let him date. There could be a million reasons but like I said I really don't think it is that he doesn't like you. I know he is ignoring your texts but I would send him one more and ask if you guys can talk. Or, find out from a friend because you never know, his phone might not be working. If that is the case then IM him or call his house. Anyway you can get in touch, give it a try. Tell him that you are interested in hanging out again and that you were wondering if he feels the same way. Just be very comfortable and don't make him feel pressured. Don't give up or start thinking negatively-I don't think this is over! Good luck!
