About Joanne
Expertise
I am a teenager myself, so I can relate to most questions a troubled teen may ask. I can answer questions like: "What does he/she mean when they said this?" or questions like: "What should I do about this?"

Experience
I have seen and helped loved ones through many teen dating problems myself so I am quite experienced in this area (If I do say so myself ^^), I know how to break up with people gently, and how to go up to someone alone. I would be glad to help anyone I can.

Question
Thanks Jo, lol yeh, i am based in London- you got msn? maybe easier to communicate you know- but i understand if you cant discolse things like that because of security purposes- just wondering! So do you agree I should offer her my number? Rather than asking? And would giving it to her on paper be better? Rather than say, grabbin her phone playfully and putting it in? Lol?

Let me know!

Hi Jo
Thanks again for the prompt follow-up- much appreciated
I think, to be honest, I will ask her properly after asking if she is going to the wrap party. If she's not, then I think rather than saying "its been great working with you, can i HAVE YOUR NUMBER", id say: its been great working with you, heres my number if ever your in london": then its open to her, and i have lost nothing- you see what i mean? It seems more relaxed, casual and easier to asking for it. Would this be advisable Jo? Also, I see you've said my chances are slim that she'll reject me- this brought a smile to my face! Lol. Stupidly i told my mother about my crush- she said go for it but it is rather unlikely anything'll come of it cause shes probbably got a boyfriend and due to the age gap! Finally what makes you think my chances could be quite good? Although, there wouldn't really be any chance of rejection if i offer her number to her- but, maybe it would be better to type it into her phone somehow? Or on a piece of paper already written? Let me know! Sorry for so many questions!

Question -
Hi Jo, many thanks for your response, much appreciated.
I go up there Thursday, and just wanted to ask one more thing- about making some kind of move! To be honest, im not very confident with asking girls out (let alone a 21yr old) or for there number- been very used to getting mine asked for! I actually saw her on TV last week as a minor extra (no lines, for like a 2sec shot), but im gonna use it to start chatting properly- if i can get a private moment. But I want to be as smooth as possible- its fear of rejection obviosly, but I MUST MAKE some kind of move. For someone of my experience in this field, how can i very subtly chat to her about how I feel? About her number? I will ask if shes going to the wrap party definitely, after all, it is my last day there.

Kind regards, hope you're experience can help me here!
Jon

Hi Joanne
I'm so glad I've found someone who may be able to help me- I am 16 years of age and am currently filming a show for ITV, which I'm thoroughly enjoying, however, from day one, I seem to have fallen in love with this girl who is basically a "runner" of the show- coordinating the set; bringing refreshments round to cast etc. She's got to be around 20-22yrs old. Now ironically, the role of my character (aged 15) is that he's having an affair with his GORGEOUS teacher at school, aged around 25. I've been lucky enough to be "very intimate with her" when filming the last couple of days! But of course, it is not the women playing my teacher who I'm in love with in real life at the moment, but this other girl who is a runner for the crew. Although it seems stupid that a 21yr old would be way out my league, due to my role, i feel i just "can" try it on with her, if you know what I mean? I talk to her all the time when I film, but I don't know how to approach her about it- its a shame shes busy most of the time, but I just know i cant leave without making a move. Ive had relationships before but ive never been in love- i know what i feel. I think i should make a move on my last day, otherwise it could jeapordise "things". Apparently theres gonna be a wrap party at the end of the filming process, which would be a great oppertunity, but if I was unlucky enough for her not to be there, id be distraught! Please can you advise me the best way to making a move on her?

p.s. i know how im gonna start the proper conversation- "i saw you on tele last week"- ultimately i want her number though!

Many thanks if you could respond to this!

Hey there Alex!
Wow, you really do love her don't you? Well, maybe, ask her if she will be at the wrap party, and if she is, make your move there, if she isn't do it the last day you have with her. Now if you want to ask her out on a date, see what she likes to do for fun. So lets say she likes to bowl, then say something like this to her: "Hey, we so need to go bowling together! Then I can prove to you I can bowl like a pro!" Or something like that, add humor, and then you can get her phone number! Taa-daa, presto! BUT if she thinks of you more as her kid brother rather than anything else, rebound by saying: " Well, I thought it would be fun, give me a call if you want to go sometime!" And leave it at that. Make her as comfortable as you can. Hope this helps and good luck, oh yeah, and one more thing, remember to breathe!

Hey!
Okay lets deal with it, you, like many other guys, are not all that confident in asking out other girls. Totally normal so don't feel dumb or anything like that. What I would do, is talk to her as a friend, not as someone who wants her number. Start talking like you would with your normal friends, then, just as she is leaving, say: "Hey, well it was fun working with you, can I grab your number so we can keep in touch?" If she says no, then say: "Well, whatever, take care then." And walk away. The chances of her rejecting you is slim, trust me. However, if she does say yes and gives you her number...reach your damn hand out and grab it! Haha, I wish you the best of luck!

Haha! Hey again!
Well, you are one smart cookie! That would work, if you give her YOUR number,(on a piece of paper) then she is free to do whatever she wants and doesn't feel pressured or anything like that. I said your chances of her rejecting you is slim because I'm sure she isn't someone who is really mean, and now that you are giving her your number, the chances are really slim! And if she doesn't call you or anything like that, then you know that she just isn't good enough for you. Hope it all works out! Good luck!
-Jo =)
P.S. You are in London? Wow! I've always wanted to go there! Lol, sorry, just had to add in this comment!

Answer
Hey again!
Yes, definetly better to give her your number. Hmm paper or phone? Well, I'd still say paper, then add it onto her phone. Or she just might add it to her phone when you give her the number. You never know! Well, I do hope it works out for you!
