Question
So here it is, I am 15 and I have been hanging out with and have been sexually active with a guy who is 21. I live in Canada and would like to know the legal dating age for here.I would also like to know should I be getting myself emotionally attached to him? I am in grade 10 and he is a working guy, so how old is too old? And what do you do when you like someone so much but age is in the way?

Answer
Hi,
I don't have a law degree, yet I do believe that having intercourse at 15 with a 21 year old in Canada is illegal. Now, not being a lawyer, this is just a theory based on some facts I have heard over the years. I recommend talking to a lawyer in your area for legal advice. I don't recommend you to stay in this relationship. I also recommend filing rape charges if allowed against him. Talk to a doctor about sex risks and get tested.

I recommend rape charges if allowed as I feel this is part of my job here and if I don't recommend this, I would be violating my oath here.

Please ask follow ups

P.S. As for dating laws, I don't think you are legally allowed to date him, yet I'm not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice. I don't know Canada's laws, sorry. We can talk about the other things if you want

The above does not replace a lawyer and is not legal advice.
