Subject: Is the girl shy, or is she flirting with me ?

Question
This morning in assembly i was sitting with my friends and chatting with them, then i looked across the room and i saw this girl looking at me. So i smiled back at her, and she looked down with a smile. Sometime later, i saw her looking at me, and when we made eye contact she instantly looked away. I then notice her talking with her friend WHILST her friend was looking at me ...
By the way, she is a girl who is sooo popular amongst the boys because she's so pretty...

Is the girl interested or am i just making a big deal of it ? Do girls only do this with boys they find attractive or just any random boy ? She's been giving me smiles / glances evertime i see her...

What do you think ?

Answer
Hello there.

Wow, this question is similar to one I just recieved a couple days ago, and with the same name also..  Either you're the same person, or it's just a very random lucky card drawn.  Since it's soo similar, I'll just say what I did with that question too, and add more..

First or all; the area of "How to tell if he/she likes me" isn't my best area, so I suggest you ask our Experts in that area of AllExperts for a secondary opinion.

Some girls do just pick any random boy to flirt with, and some mean it.  All girls are different, and have their own different ways of showing signs of attraction to something.  For example--> this girl may like you, and she may just be messing with you.

If you ask what I think though-->  this girl just might be interested in you.  You'll never know if you don't talk to her first though!!  Keep this type of friendship you have right now with the smiling whenever you see eachother.  Try a smile and a quick wave sometime too.  If she keeps showing the signs of looking back at you, smiling, etc. try talking to her some.

If you're walking in the hall and you see eachother, if you're both within hearing-distance, say a quick "hi/ hello" while you're walking past eachother.  Do this a few times and one day, actually try TALKING to her..  If you see her by her locker or stopped in the hall or something, stop by her and say hi, ask her how she is, etc..  Tell her you've been wanting to try talking to her some, but wasn't sure if she was in a hurry or not.

Do this, and maybe write a note, and give it to her.  Let her know you're interested in talking to her, and would like to get to know eachother better.

From this point, just go with the flow.  Learn about eachother, maybe ask if she has a phone number or e.mail address you can reach her at.

Best of luck, and ask FollowUps if you need, --Matty--
