Expert: Dan Date: 10/18/2007 Subject: im so clueless on first relationships...
Question Hello I'm 17 and recently my coworker from starbucks asked me out on my first date (it was yesterday and we watched a movie). He is 19 years old, out of high school and I'm a senior in high school. i heard from my other coworkers that he likes me, but i didn't have much of an attraction to him but agreed to go out because you never know if a relationship may work out well. I don't know ANYTHING about dating or relationships but he has been in a few.
1.) so last night we did some talking, but i didn't feel like we really clicked but maybe i should try another date and see how that goes because i was nervous?
2.) was i being unfair that i didn't even give him a kiss on the cheek after the movie? not only did i feel unprepared to give a kiss on the cheek but also... i don't know how... i mean do i give him a quick peck, hold it long, or something? much less i don't know HOW to give a kiss on the lips you know like in movies, I'm really afraid to do it wrong since hes been in relationships =[
3.) what should i do on our next date so that we could get to know each other more? or should end it because it probably really wont go anywhere?
PS sorry it SO LONG!!!! but i need someone to turn to! since I'm keeping it confidential from my parents until i think this relationship will work then i will open with it to them and even my friends!
Answer Hi,
The thing is I don't recommend rushing into dating and also I don't recommend dating a coworker. But, Ok lets start this off.
1. Question one, I recommend to become a better friend before dating. This can help create the relationship to work better.
2. I don't recommend rushing into kissing. First dates don't need a first kiss.
3. I would recommend to speak to him how you would like to take this relationship slow and explain why.
Again I don't recommend to date coworkers, yet if you want to date him and are allowed, take it slow.
