About Z. Amanda Chen
Expertise
I have always been interested in fashion and actually design/redesign some of my own clothes. Since I'm a teen, I can answer questions relating to teenage fashion, what kinds of clothes make you look older or younger than what you actually are, and where you can find bargains that resemble designer clothes. However, since I'm usually focused on the new, I don't know much about vintage clothing. Additionally, although I know a lot about skirts, shorts, and shoes, outerwear fashion is beyond me.

Experience
I design or redesign some of my own clothes, and I am constantly trying out new looks. Additionally, I've also learned quite a few fashion tricks on how to stand out and how to blend in.

Education/Credentials
None.

Subject: What do i look good in?

Question
Im 15 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, muscular but not bulky, i have brown,
medium length hair. i look athletic. i have no idea what i look good in, or
what i should wear. i have been sticking to cargo shorts or jeans with a t-
shirt(usually aeropostale). im not really sure what somebody my height and
build should wear, or how i shuld cut my hair. should i wear baggy shirts or
tighter? also, i dont have the money to go out and buy a bunch of hollister
and abercombie clothes, which is why i stick to the less expensive
aeropostale stuff.

Answer
Hey Chris,

With your height and build, you sound like the kind of person who can wear anything.  Are you preppy or urban/skater?  If you're into preppy looks, the best places to shop are Aeropostale or American Eagle if you can't go to A&F or Hollister.  And if you're more into urban or skater, go to PacSun or Zumies.  Anchor Blue is only available in certain areas, but the clothes there fit both the preppy and urban scenes.  As for shirt tightness, the preppy look requires tight shirts while the urban/skater look is fine with either baggy or loose shirts.  With your build, I'd say go for the tight shirts since you don't have anything to hide.  Jeans and cargo pants go with anything, so you don't need to change those either.

I can't say much about your hair as that usually depends on what kind of a face structure you have and how much time you're willing to spend on it in the morning.  And actually this year, the hottest hairstyle for guys is the shaggy cut with a messy, bed head look.  If you don't want to cut your hair too much, your hair should look great with a shaggy look (think Zac Efron).

Anyways, you sound like you would look good in anything, so don't sweat it.  Be confident in what you wear!

Hope that helped,
~Amanda
