Subject: dress for april wedding

Question
Hi, I have two questions.
1)  I was just informed that hose (any color) are totally not an option, and your shoes should match your dress.  I was going to wear a red dress with black shoes and nude hose to a ball on Saturday, but now I'm having second thoughts.  What I am I supposed to wear with the dress?
2)  I am going to a wedding at the beginning of April...would a red dress/black sweater be too dark to wear?  Thank you so much!

Answer
for number 1, im not sure what you have in your closet or how much time or money you would have to shop, so i can't really help. Black shoes always look nice with a red dress, but if its supposed to match, red shoes might be better. If your shoes aren't painful without hose, then ditch em. following "party rules" are generally good. for 2, it depends on the red. if its a dark red, then it might be too dark, but for reddish reds and lighter reds it wouldn't be too dark. After all, there's still some chilly days in April, i kinda consider it the winter/spring time. maybe wear some lighter accesories/jewelry though, it would be a nice touch
