AboutZ. Amanda Chen Expertise I have always been interested in fashion and actually design/redesign some of my own clothes. Since I'm a teen, I can answer questions relating to teenage fashion, what kinds of clothes make you look older or younger than what you actually are, and where you can find bargains that resemble designer clothes. However, since I'm usually focused on the new, I don't know much about vintage clothing. Additionally, although I know a lot about skirts, shorts, and shoes, outerwear fashion is beyond me.
Experience I design or redesign some of my own clothes, and I am constantly trying out new looks. Additionally, I've also learned quite a few fashion tricks on how to stand out and how to blend in.
Question Hey, me and my bff Katie have a huge problem. We love going to Hollister and Abercrombie!! Thats ok right, but the problem is that we spend too much money there. We also only get to go there once every 3 monthes. So we buy alot when we go. Do you know of any stores that sell clothes that look like abercrombie or hollister clothes for a cheaper price??? Help!!
Answer Hello Candace and Katie,
You guys both sent me the same question so I'll only answer one of them, 'kay?
First of all, beware, because if what you want is a cheaper imitation of A&F and Hollister, you'll have to give up something. Aeropostale is a good imitation brand with way cheaper prices, but some say that it's "girlier." You know how A&F and Hollister stores have dark lighting with beachy themes? Well Aeropostale stores are usually brighter and decorated with pastels (and their signature monkey). But, the clothes at Aeropostale are remarkably similar to those at A&F and Hollister. So if you can get over the different shop fronts, you'll find cheaper look-alike clothes there.
Another few brands that come to mind are American Eagle and PacSun. I'm not sure if they're way cheaper, but the clothes are very similar to A&F and Hollister. PacSun especially has the surf look/design right. If you like A&F and Hollister jeans, then PacSun is the place to go. They have look-alike jeans at only 2 for $55.
Also, you may want to try Forever 21. They have the trendiest clothes for the cheapest prices I have ever seen. The only problem is that people say the clothes don't last long (they're probably made from cheaper qualities).
If none of these suggestions work, you can always look at thrift stores such as Platos Closet, which has actual clothes from A&F and Hollister for a fraction of the cost because the clothes are second hand. You usually don't need to worry though, because Platos Closet is pretty choosey about the condition of the clothes before they put them on sale. Sometimes, you may even be able to find brand new A&F and Hollister clothes that someone bought and outgrew before they could even wear them. So if you have the time, you can look around there.
Well, that's all I could think of. I hope that helped!
