About Z. Amanda Chen
Expertise
I have always been interested in fashion and actually design/redesign some of my own clothes. Since I'm a teen, I can answer questions relating to teenage fashion, what kinds of clothes make you look older or younger than what you actually are, and where you can find bargains that resemble designer clothes. However, since I'm usually focused on the new, I don't know much about vintage clothing. Additionally, although I know a lot about skirts, shorts, and shoes, outerwear fashion is beyond me.

Experience
I design or redesign some of my own clothes, and I am constantly trying out new looks. Additionally, I've also learned quite a few fashion tricks on how to stand out and how to blend in.

Education/Credentials
None.

Answer
Hey EM,

I would love to tell you what kids in the U.S. wear, but the biggest difference between the US and Canada is the climate.  Therefore, I'm not sure what types of clothes I can advise you on.  However, I can still give you the basic jest of things (I have a friend who can here from Australia!)

Usually, people wear shirts and jeans, sometimes with a jacket/hoodie over that.  But in all honesty, people aren't judgmental of what you wear.  No matter if you wear emo, punk, goth, preppy, or urban, there's always a group for you.  For school, I would recommend just a t-shirt/cute top and jeans.  If you want to see some pictures, here are some links:

And some last minute tips: just be confident.  People love people who are confident, optimistic, and always smiling.  As long as you show your personality, people probably won't even notice if you make some mistakes in your appearance.

Well, I hope that helped,
~Amanda
