About Z. Amanda Chen
Expertise
I have always been interested in fashion and actually design/redesign some of my own clothes. Since I'm a teen, I can answer questions relating to teenage fashion, what kinds of clothes make you look older or younger than what you actually are, and where you can find bargains that resemble designer clothes. However, since I'm usually focused on the new, I don't know much about vintage clothing. Additionally, although I know a lot about skirts, shorts, and shoes, outerwear fashion is beyond me.

Experience
I design or redesign some of my own clothes, and I am constantly trying out new looks. Additionally, I've also learned quite a few fashion tricks on how to stand out and how to blend in.

Education/Credentials
None.

Question
My mom thinks I have too much clothes so she budgets me on how much I spend. My allowance is a puny 10 dollars a month and I have no clothing allowance. Could you find me two outfits each under 50 dollars, one for a night out/ date and one for school - casual yet looks put together and really cute. If you can find cute bags and shoes please add. Thanks! :)

P.S. My measurements are 5 feet and 1/4 of an inch and 85 pounds. I am a dancer :)

Answer
Hey Christie!

Your mom sounds kinda harsh.  I used to be on a budget too, but $10/month?!  Wow.

Here's for a night out (I don't know enough about you and your preferences, but here's the best I can do):
There is nothing easier to wear for a night out than a dress.  Just remember that with your height, you should opt for a mini.  This one is casual and probably comfy for $34.80.  You may want to pair it with leggings or jeans though (it's getting very cold where I live).

This dress can be paired with one of the following accessories, if you want to be within your budget.
purse $12.99

shoes $9.49

Or you can just wear whatever you already have in your closet.

For school, you can really just wear anything, as long as it obeys school rules.  here are some suggestions:
A cute long-sleeved v-neck $14.50 (can be paired with your favorite jeans):

Or you can wear your favorite jeans and tee with a cute sweater $10.50:

My suggestion if you are on a budget to go to the forever21 website at http://www.forever21.com/default.asp
They have a huge selection, the prices are cheap, and when you click on an item to view it, they give suggestions on what else you could buy to form an outfit.

Well, I hope that helped!
~Amanda
