Teen Health - Long Period.

Question
I have had my period for over a month now. I'm afraid to go to the doctor, because I dont want someone feeling around in my private parts. I've recently really changed my diet, but my mom said that probably wouldnt affect me. I really dont want to go to the doctor until I absolutely have to.. any suggestions?

Answer
Dear worried,

Have you had your period constantly for a whole month with no breaks?  If so, you do need to see a gynecologist.  I know you are scared, but something is probably seriously wrong.  I know I was scared when I first visited the gynecologist.  I was freaked!  But it is worth it.  Just remain calm, it'll be all right!!!  If you need anything else, I'm right here for you!
