Teen Health - Underweight Problem.

Question
Hi, I've had this underweight problem since i can remember, I am 5ft 11" (180cm) and around 9 stone 7lbs (Around 135lbs). I eat quite a lot and I am quite active.. But I never seem to put on weight, I hate how my body looks, My wrists are REALLY skinny, my hip bone pops out, etc. It is really making me depressed, I've tried protein shakes, and all that, nothing seems to work. I was wondering if you could help me somehow? Thanks. Andy.

Answer
Dear Andy,

I'm sorry to hear that you are underweight.  Actually, I would be happy for a skinny body, but that's just me.  Hun, being very active and protein shakes are going to make you LOSE weight, not gain.  Have you ever tried being a couch potato?  That is a way you can gain, or eat a lot like you do, but be not as active, and do away with the protein shakes.  Sometimes sweets (such as cake) can make you gain more weight than meat.  But if you are wanting to eat cake or dessert, don't shove in a ton of it or eat candy, as candy rots your teeth.  Hope this helps!
