About Junko Expertise I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.
Question Hi! I'm 17 years old, I weighed 153 pounds last year and am now down to 132 pounds. I still can't seem to get rid of this little belly pouch that I have going on and my upper arms are still chubby. I've read Katie's question and ever since i started working out regularly I've lifted weights, but the stubborn belly pouch won't seem to go away. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong with my workout?
Answer Hi Jenny,
Congratulations on your weight loss!
Everyone has a different "problem area". It sounds like the "belly pouch" is yours. I just suggested a website to check out for good abdominal exercises to someone else. They might help you with your "belly pouch". Here it is: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/conditioning/a/aa020402a.htm
I don't know exactly what you do for your workout, but you want to make sure to do some aerobic exercises, such as running, as well as lifting weights and doing targeted exercises.
