About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Question
Hey,

I am very worried about bumps or bites and rashes I have on my body. I went to a camp in Tennessee 2 weeks ago and came back and noticed a couple of bumps or bites on my legs, since then I have found quite a few more. On my left leg I have 5 spots im worried about. The biggest one is almost an inch wide and is purplish and has a center and some white around it. There is also another purplish spot, smaller on my ankle. I also have a bump on my knee, but it is different. It is small and red and a different kind. I have these also on my back and stomach. Then on my upper leg i have a spot of red and there is like white skin around the pore of a hair. Then on my lower right leg i have 2 spots of purplish bumps again. I have a spot of red and a bump w/ a little white skin around it on my upper butt and hip also.

I am so scared its a disease or something..im dying...

Answer
Hi Kevin,

Don't worry, you're not dying.  Without seeing your spots, it's hard for me to say what your bites might be from.  Are they itchy?  Do you have any other symptoms (fever, chills, etc..)?  Do you remember being around or bitten by any spiders?  It's possible that your bites will just go away on their own.  Keep a careful watch on them and if they start to get worse, then please go see a doctor.  Also, if you notice any other symptoms then go see a doctor.  If you've been bitten by some sort of tick, your doctor can treat you appropriately.

Sorry I can't be of more help!
