About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Question
I know drugs have a different effect on different people, is it rare to find that when some people smoke pot that instead of the regular symptoms they get migraines?

Answer
Hi Edith,

There aren't very good studies on marijuana and its effects on headaches/migraines.  There are a few studies and anecdotal evidence indicating that marijuana may actually improve migraines.  However, there are a few other studies stating the exact opposite - that marijuana worsens headaches.  So, I'm going to say that the effect that marijuana has on headaches probably depends on the person.
