About Junko Expertise I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Question I really want to know if I have ADD/ADHD....According to every online test I have innatentive type ADD and possibly ADHD...or it's likely that I do. My parents dont want to bring me to a phycologist because they just dont want to. So how could I find out for sure? Is there any sure test that I could take so I can tell my parents I do have it? Because my grades are slipping and it'd be great if I could convince my parents to help me find help.
Answer Hi Joel,
From what you've told me, it sounds like you've probably taken the typical 6-question ADHD screening test. Is that right? If that's the case, it sounds like you might indeed have ADHD. Unfortunately, at this point there is no other way to further verify your diagnosis aside from going to see a psychiatrist. Is there a teacher or counselor at school you could talk to who could convince your parents that you need extra help? It sounds like you're struggling and might really benefit from some sort of therapy.
