Teen Health - Weight

Question
I have a question about how to lose weight.
I have always been a health child, and I maintain a very healthy weight. My thighs are kind of large though, My stomache is totally flat and I am very thin everywere else. I started running two miles everyday. I thought that might help. Is there anything else I can do.

Answer
Alison,
I think that what you are doing is great.  You will burn calories and will improve your heart and your bones.  I would suggest that you examine your diet and cut out unhealthy foods.
I want you to also examine your body and see if your thighs are really that big.  Ask a friend or a sibling if you could trim your thighs.  You could try toning them by lifting weights, but it may not be necessary.  Some people may see a part of their body as not the right size.  They may be fine and they just seem large.
I think that it is great to be working on your health and your body though.  Feel free to follow up with me if you have any other questions.  Best of luck.
Ryan
