About Junko Expertise I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.
Question Hi, I'm 13 years old but I'm pretty short for my age and I'm skinnier than a usual 13 year old. I weigh 80 pounds and my height is 4' 11". But I don't have the usual size breasts that all my other classmates have. Is there any way I could make them look a little bigger without taking pills or surgery?
Answer Hi Veronica
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to change the size of your breasts outside of surgery. Your breast size is mostly determined by your genetic makeup, so you will most likely be about the same size as the other females in your family. Since breast tissue is largely made up of fat, breast size will also change according to your weight, but unless you are underweight, I don't recommend gaining weight to increase your breast size (and you probably wouldn't want to either). The best thing you can do for yourself is maintain a healthy diet.
