Question
how many times do you have to stretch a day to gain flexibility, and how do you gain flexibility on your spine?

Answer
Mike,
It is good to stretch at least twice a day if you are really concentrating on gaining flexibility.  Knowing how to stretch is another important thing.  The amount of time you stretch is more important than how far you go necessarily.
I want to caution you on how much you work your spine.  I would encourage you to make sure that there is a need to gain flexibility.  The spine is a precious thing, and you should treat it with caution.  I would encourage you to seek someone that can instruct you on this, as they can evaluate what you need to gain and can then give those to you.  I cannot put myself in that position on this forum.
Best of luck,
Ryan
