Question
Hey,
I got diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter disease and it turns out that my injury was not acute.   How do I keep playing sports and running in track without me limping uncontrollable after practice?   How can I make myself heal faster? Should I try 2 switch 2 a throwing event rather that a running event. This would be bad because I could run a mile in 5:40 about 6 months  ago and now  I have trouble running a mile in under 9:00.  What stretches should I do 2 get rid of the pain?
Thank you,
Chili

Hey,,

About three weeks ago I got kicked in the knee in a  basketball game so I had too play through a lot of pain til five days ago because it was school vacation and I had no games. I practiced shooting and layups yesterday and my knee felt really painful since.  Should I see a doctor?
Thank you for taking your time to help others,
Will

Answer -
Will,
I would go to see a doctor especially since it has lingered so long.  It is important to have a hands on evaluation and to be referred for the appropriate diagnostics.  Best of luck.  Feel free to follow up.
Ryan

Answer
Will,
Your doctor should have advised you concerning your participation.  If not I would ask.  Most likely you should limit your participation.  Because I would like you to find out from your doctor you participation, you might as well ask if you should go to physical therapy.  That way you can get the strengthening that you need and the proper stretching.  I cannot advise you on stretches ON HERE.  You could make your knee worse.  Talk to your doctor.  Best of luck.
