About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Subject: late period coming

Question
i m 14 yrs n i havent have my period.is it normal?i am woory as i m alredy 14..

Answer
Hi Mellier,

Girls usually get their first period anywhere from age 8 to age 16.  The average age for the first period is 12.  While you are on the later side, you are still well within the normal age range for getting your first period, so don't worry!  Hold on for a couple more years, and if you turn 16 and still haven't gotten your period, then you should go see your doctor.

I hoep this helps!
