About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Question
hi i had a question, about puberty, is it normal to have a lot of fantasy's desires, and thoughts about sex. and is it normal for teens to masturbate? After puberty will you stop having so many sexual thoughts, and mastubating?

Answer
Hi Ryan,

Yes, it's perfectly normal to have sexual thoughts and to masturbate.  During puberty, your body is going through many changes and producing lots of hormones which will make you think about sex more.  You may think about sex and masturbate less after puberty, but you might not.  As long as these thoughts and actions don't interfere with your normal daily life, you are fine.

I hope this helps.
