About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Question
hi
i'm so shy,
but i need help...
i'm 20 years old and study physics.
i can't control my erection.
when it happens i really don't know what to do?
and it happens on any very simple situation, just like talking to my female friends in university.
what can i do now?
thanx and best regards.
hossein.

Answer
Hi Hossein,

I know this is an embarrassing situation for you, but you're not alone.  This is something that all males go through.  Wearing tighter underwear (briefs) and looser pants can help hide an unwanted erection.  When you have an unwanted erection, you can also try to discreetly put a hand in one of your pockets and move your penis so it's pointing to the side.  If you need to, you can also hold your penis to the side with your hand in your pocket until the erection goes away. Masturbation and becoming more familiar with your body can also help you gain more control over your erections.

Good luck!
