About Junko
Expertise
I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Experience
I am a 4th year medical student.

Subject: My tongue ring moved

Question
I've had my tongue pierced for about 4 months and when I got it done I did all the right stuff looked it up and all, so I know I had it done right. But now I noticed that the ring is too close to the front of my mouth and that there's a line from where it was before down.
So my question is why did it move? and is it going to move again?

Answer
Hi Nicole,

I don't have a lot of experience with this but I'm wondering if you've somehow ripped your tongue and if the "line" you mentioned is actually a tear?  Do you play with your piercing a lot?  If you do, this may have caused a tear.  You may want to go back to the place where you got your tongue piercing.  They may have other suggestions.

Hope this helps!
