About Junko Expertise I can answer most questions pertaining to teen health, thought I cannot give medical advice. I can explain medical terminology, describe medical conditions and hopefully help people understand what is going on with their bodies. If I don`t know an answer to a question, being a medical student, I can easily find out the answer since I have many resources I can refer to.

Answer Hi Nickie,
It is normal for women to bleed the first time they have sex due to tearing of the tissue around the vaginal opening (hymen). Sometimes bleeding will occur the first few times a woman has sex. Depending on how closed your hymen is and how vigorously you are being fingered, some bleeding may occur. However, if you continue to bleed with every sexual encounter, you should see a doctor.
Also remember to always practice safe sex. Using a barrier method such as a condom is the only way to decrease your chances of getting an STD.
