Answer:  Ok I am really going out on a limb here. This website says that I should not answer homework questions but since I am a nice guy, I will answer it anyway.

1. Music can completely change someone's mood for sure. If you are happy and feeling joyice, then you listen something like The Widow by Mars Volta, your mood will totally change. i know this from personally experience.

2. Metal is seen as evil and bad because the bands that sing it usually wear a lot of black, masks sometimes, and generally have a scary outward appearance. Also, the lyrics don't talk about roses and flowers. They talk about the tragic part of life, lust, hate, depression and all the things that people don't want to talk about.

3. Depends how you define evil, evil in essence is the absence of good. Now since we aren't all God and we are all flawed, then we all have some evil. If you go by that definition, all bands play at least one depressing or hateful song so basically, all bands (even country) are evil.

4. I believe that music can push someone in a direction such as suicide. Although you must have that thought in you first.

5. I think teens should listen to whoever they want because no matter how hard you tell them not to listen to bands, they will anyway.

6. Moshing is linked to every genre of music. Emo, metal, punk, rock, even country.

7. No I don't think they are likely to be violent. You see, the people that listen to heavy metal could be nice people. Thats like asking if all people that like rap are black people that shoot at each other. Obviously thats not true.

8. Thats hard to say. No one has really done studies or anything to that nature.

9. I think that they are looking at one side of the argument. Teens listen to this music because they already have the rage in them probably caused by something in their lives. Parents find it convenient to blame this stuff on rockers like Manson and so forth because they are an easy target.

10. Metal increases heart rates because people get really excited over music like this. Excitability equals heart rate goes up.

That is bad effects
This is positive:

Question:  so who knows if you still do this but umm i need some more information on how music can be positive.. thought beats, lyrics, the artist or what ever it is that impacts ones life

Answer:
Music can be positive in aspiring people for one thing. Back in the old days, the american revolution in such, it could inspire the men to be brave and couragous so there was always a drummer and fluteiest marching with the soldiers into battle. Although I get the sense you want something a bit more today. An artist's music can be positive through lyrics by saying all the things the person listening wants to say. If the song screams in it, it could be letting off some personal rage and this could be an outlet. This outlet could be positive because by letting off some steam, the person could calm down eventually and not do anything rash. It can also inspire other people to do good things such as the song Imagine by the Beatles. Imagine a world with peace and that could influence some people to try to attain this impossible goal.

Beats can be positive to a person who is about to play in a sport. It can pump them up with just the song such as Breathe by Prodigy. Not that many good lyrics but it has an amazing beat and is usually in sports scenes in movies. It can pump a wrestler up before a match or a football player before a game. Music can be positive in so many ways but there is no way for me to list them all. I hope this helps your senior project. I would also recommend in listening to some more songs so you can get a better understanding of it and get more examples. Good luck.

That's the best I can do because I don't wanna go to far back in my questions. If you really want to know more please look at them. I get this question at least twice a week so you can understand why I am tired of answering it. I hope this helps you out.

Maybe I should talk to the teachers to stop giving this question out haha.
