Answer
Hahaha yes my name is Greg. Well I think if we listen to any music, it expresses what we want to hear. Lets take for example an angry mood. Your pissed off because your teacher gives you an extra asignment or you don't make a team, you come home and listen to Duality by Slipknot. I think the reason you listen to the music is so you get a sense of comfort that other people feel the same way. So i listen to Slipknot not only cause the music is good but it expresses what I feel. Same thing for your exammple. A sad mood, you listen to a sad song and it makes you feel better. It's like the song is comforting you and telling you that other people feel the same way you do. "Misery Loves company". That might be why. Anyway, thats my best guess.
