Question
My 12 yr old daughter loves rap and rock. but their are so many bands--what are the bands that I should eliminate from her choices for appropriative purposes. When she requests a cd I don't have a clu what the type of songs they sing. I am a country fan myself.
Thankx  much for your help!

Answer
Ahh yes the appropriative songs list. Well Rap and rock can be appropriate but some have very bad lyrics. Some use the F word and so on many many times. You do not have to worry about those though becuase the cd cover will have a parential adviser on it if they curse at all. If you are wondering about bad lyrics such as hitting or killing someone? Well there are soo many bands out there that do once in a while make a song about killing or something. My suggestion is to go online and type in the song name and find its lyrics. Say a song like "Duality" by Slipknot. Just type in "Duality by slipknot lyrics". Look at the lyrics and you may approve or disapprove it. But i also must say that you can not always protect her from these bad songs cause eventually we all grow up and we might hear it at a party. I know parents do not like to hear that but it is mainly true. She might hear it from school or what not. My best suggestion is to keep an open mind.

PS: one of my favorite clean bands is Linkin Park. They might "scream" but the lyrics are very inspirational.
