Question
Can music affect teen delinquency in any way?

Answer
First off, not to be rude or anything but please take another look at my past questions that I have answered. I am pretty sure they go into enough detail to fulfill this question. But for the sake of not being mean, I will answer it anyway. Music CAN affect teen delinquency. The beat with the lyrics and so forth can inspire a kid to go rob a bank, join a gang or even kill a person. Keep in mind, this is ANY song such as Rap, rock, county, emo, and etc. For example, rap artists always talk about how they were shot and how being gangster is cool so if a kid really likes this artist then, he/she might want to be a gangster. Rock talks about death a lot so this kid might listen to these lyrics and take it to heart. The end result would be suicide or killing someone. I mean anything can be inspired by music so it is quite possible for it to affect teen delinquency.

I would also like to point out though that music can inspire people to be better then who they are. For example "If everyone cared" by Nickelback is a recent song about peace and how if everyone cared, then there would be a day with no death. Not all songs are bad and just because some music can cause teen delinquency, it doesn't mean we should rip music off the shelves and ban it from the world.

If I failed to answer your question sufficiently, please e-mail me again.

Also, take a look at my previous questions to get more information on how music affects teens. It's quite a large topic.
