Teen Pregnancy - Sex two days before her period came

Expert: Deborah - 12/16/2008

Question
I had unpeotected sex with my gf but I did not cum. I know this because we
had to stop because my parents got home, but a few minutes later, I got
erect again. And I think that if I did cum inside her without me knowing, I
wouldn't have been able to become erect as quickly.  But I'm still afraid my
pre-cum might get her pregnant though. Two days later, she gets her period.
Her period lasted for only 4 days. Shorter than normal. Can she be
pregnant? I'm so worried and stupid for not using a condom.

Answer
Dear Dean,

No, she is not pregnant and yes, it was foolish to have sex without a condom. :)  I realize you learned that lesson yourself, though.

You should buy Plan B Emergency Contraception at the pharmacy to have around in case of a broken condom, or some other occasion like it.  It helps prevent pregnancy up to 3 days after sex.  It is not for use as regular birth control, however, because it is not reliable enough.

Take care,

Deb
