About Kandi
Expertise I am able to answer all types of teen pregnancy questions, As well as questions about finding help with housing assistance in any state and educational programs. I know that being a teen mother or father is a very difficult time, which can make it intense to obtain your education, but it certainly can be done with time and lots of hard work.
I am also able to answer health questions about teen pregnancy.
Experience My experience in teen pregnancy comes from my personal experience as a teen mother. In addition to the struggles that I had to go through and later over come for the life of my child. I am currently 26 years old, but had my first child at the age of 14 years old, and second at 17. Because I know how it feels to be in this type of situation, I am fully capable of giving advice to someone who is in the same situation that I once found myself during. Being pregnant at such a young age is something that may be the hardest thing for a person to battle. As teens, our minds are still not fully mature, making decision and caring for another individual hard to accomplish.
At 14 years old I had to care for a child and forced to drop out of school and move out into my own house all by the age of 16 years old. I lived in a high crime and high poverty city where I was forced to raise my son, so I am fully knowledgeable of all the assistance that is out there for any teen mother.
After having my second son at the age of 17, I went back to school for my GED and today hold an associate degree in health and human services. Currently I am a license practitioner nurse and working towards my bachelor degree in nursing, which allows me to answer teen pregnancy related questions.

Question I am 15 years old and 3 months pregnant and me and my boyfriend are keeping our baby but my mom keeps telling me that it is against the law for it to have his last name and that's a really important thing for me. I really want the baby to have my boyfriends last name. Is that possible?
Answer Hi Mandy,
As along as your boyfriend signs the birth certificate when the baby is born, then the baby can have his last name. It is not against the law I believe your mother is trying to have the baby with your last name, but you can also put both on the birth certificate.
I have two last names my mothers and father’s.
I had my first baby when I was 14 yrs old and my baby was giving his dad's last name, it is not against the law
