Subject: Possibly Being pregnant
Question I had unprotected sex on May 28th and it was around the time I had my ovulation, and since then I have been feeling different and I noticed that I have gained weight in my stomach and I have been really emotional lately. I had a period but it was a day and a half, and it was abnormal in color, it was darker than usual. I took a home pregnancy test and it came out negative. But I am still having symptoms, and they are becoming more and more strong. Could I be pregnant and still have had that period? And should I take another test or just go to a doctor?
Answer Dear Emilee,
Yes, you could be pregnant, and that bleeding could have been "spotting" that some women get in early pregnancy. If I were you I would go to the doctor's for a blood test, because that bleeding doesn't sound like it was your period.
You could take another test first, but either way you should follow up with a doctor's visit.
I hope everything works out.
Take care,
Deb
