Experience I was once a pregnant 15 year old, and it was traumatizing. I considered adoption, abortion, and parenthood and came to a conclusion. I was fortunate enough to have a supportive family, but not everyone is as lucky as I was. I have firsthand experience on what it feels like to discover an unplanned, teen pregnancy, as well as experience with coping.
Organizations I am the President of VOX:Voices for Planned Parenthood, which is a non-profit student organization focusing on sexual health and education, as well as reproductive rights and freedom.
Publications I have written an article regarding my own teen pregnancy story which will be published on www.Teenwire.com on June 24th.
Education/Credentials I am currently a senior at Northern Michigan University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology and Gender Studies. I am trained and certified in Sexual Health Peer Education and am currently teaching a college course focusing on STI prevention.

Question My last period was June 13 and I had sex yesterday (June 27). I have a normal period, it usually lasts about 5 days and my cycle is the normal 28 days. So when i got home i realized that it was my ovulation day. My bf wore a condom but im still a little freaked out. I plan on taking a home pregnancy test on July 11 but i still want to know...how likely is it that im pregnant?
Answer Norah,
Even though you may have ovulated on the day you had sex, you really aren't any more likely to have gotten pregnant as long as you correctly used the condom and it didn't break. If you still plan on taking a home pregnancy test, it might not be accurate until your period is a week late. In the meantime, keep using those condoms. You really shouldn't worry yourself too much though, condoms are very effective at preventing an unplanned pregnancy, whether you were ovulating or not.
